Our Lady's Catholic Primary School

Jesus the teacher guides our every step

Vision, Mission and Values

Our Vision

As a Catholic School, our inspiration is through Jesus Christ and therefore we promote the dignity and well-being of every child because we are all equal in the sight of God. It is the foundation stone on which we build this school. We are a community steeped in faith, working side by side with each other as Christ would expect us to do. It is our priority that the children of this school know, love and serve God in their hearts and minds.

Recognising that parents are the prime educators of our children, we are committed to nurturing Christian attitudes and values, through the teachings of the Gospel and the Catholic Church. Prayer and reflection are important and integral parts of daily life in school. Through these attitudes and values we aim to enhance each child’s educational and spiritual development and the practical living-out of their faith. We will help the children of this school discover their vocation in life; to achieve their potential and use their gifts for the greater glory of God.

Our vision and mission provides a shared philosophy for all to aspire to: a communal goal driving success and a framework for self-improvement. It provides us all with a collective accountability for the children as well as developing an awareness to ensure that everyone is valued.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If your gift is prophesying, use it in proportion to your faith.  If it is serving, serve well; if it is teaching, teach; if it is encouraging, encourage others; if it is contributing to the needs of others, give generously; if it is leadership govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, do it cheerfully.

This is our mission.

Our faith and love for God is cherished and developed by opening our hearts to God’s love through worship, prayer and forgiveness.

Understand how to guide others to have a more active relationship with Jesus, celebrating us as Mission Makers and Servant Leaders, so that we can love God.

Respect and involve our parents showing them how we learn, how we use our Multiple Intelligences and how we become Learning Champions.

Live, learn and love one another by, creating a caring, safe and friendly environment where all are welcome.

Always represent the school by being a great role model.

Develop our community by working in partnership with everyone to become active global citizens. (School, Home, Church and surrounding Community)

Yearn to show others empathy and compassion by listening to others and by understanding their feelings.

Strive to be the best that we can be by being independent and resilient and by encouraging others to do the same.

Please read the school's Mission Statements and Values and Skills. Class Mission Statements can be found on the 'Class Information' pages and on the 'Religious Life' page under 'Catholic Life and Mission'.
