Forest School Inspired Learning

Forest School Inspired Learning is a unique educational experience that offers the pupils of Our Lady’s the opportunity to succeed and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland environment and we are extremely fortunate that the extent of our grounds allows us to offer these opportunities on site.

Pupils have the opportunities to explore beyond the classroom, with child-led learning. They will take part in team building activities; learn about their environment including noticing what happens in different seasons and the importance of looking after our environment to protect the world for the future generations. Learning and exploring the woodland environment, using tools and natural resources helps pupils to understand nature, gain life skills and knowledge of their world. Forest school supports many areas of the National Curriculum; it also helps to meet the criteria of the EYFS in a fun way and encourages the learning for functional skills.

Also during winter months, the children may require: 2 pairs of socks, a hat, a scarf, gloves, a vest or a long sleeved t shirt or skins top (or PJ top) and another jumper.

The more layers, the warmer your child will be - they can always take them off!
