Hi everyone, for those of you who are unfamiliar with us, this year, the PTFA is a team of 4 parents and between us we have 6 children in Our Lady’s School, you can put a face to our names, we have a ‘who’s who’ poster in the playground notice board.
We see first-hand the benefits the children get from having such a good PTFA and we see it as a privilege to help raise funds for not just our children but all of the children at the school.
P.T.F.A stands for Parents, Teachers, Friends Association, so it’s not just current parents at the school who can help, we have parents of children who have left Our Lady's who still like to help out, which is great and we still benefit from previous members of the PTFA who have ‘retired’! All help and ideas are welcome!
|PTFA Chairperson – Karen Harris
My name is Karen Harris, I'm mum to Alannah in Year 6 and Braedan in Year 4.
I run my own Venue Styling business called 'Wedding Tables‘.
I have been PTFA chairperson for the last 2 years and I enjoy working with the school and PTFA to run events and raising money for our school.
PTFA Secretary – Becky Morgan
My name is Becky Morgan. My son Jake is in Year 6 and my daughter Maisie is in Year 4. Having been a parent of the school for several years now I am looking forward to being more involved with the PTFA and helping organise lots of money-raising events for all the children of Our Lady's. All parents, new or old, your help and support will be very much appreciated!
PTFA Treasurer – Sue Cadden
My name is Sue Cadden and I am a mum to 5, although my youngest left Our Lady's in July 2017. I have been the PTFA Treasurer for 6 years and part of the committee for 13 years.
PTFA Vice Chair – Marie Sloan
My name is Marie Sloan, I am mum to Lucas in Year 6.
I work part time and can normally be found in the playground most mornings before school.
The notice board in the Playground
Sound system for the school hall stage
50% of the extra curriculum activities every year for each class £2,110
Books for school
Summer outings £1,100
2015 Christmas Panto £1,600
So, as you can see, these are fairly substantial amounts of money and this is why we wish all our events to be a success in order that we can continue to provide the children with these occasions and benefits.
Are you on Facebook?
Keep up to speed with daily goings on and reminders for school events, simply ‘friend request’ Our Lady’s PTFA and we will add you!
Keep an eye on the Notice Board for dates and pop along to our next meeting. Meetings take place in the school hall and are usually only around 1 hour long; bring your ideas and thoughts, or simply come along to hear what we are planning, we would love to see some new faces there, and it’s really not that scary!
