Dear Year 4,
This will be the last piece of work that builds to an independent piece of writing that I will be setting you this year. I hope that you have enjoyed these writing tasks, and I look forward to seeing how your writing has grown over the year when I receive your final piece of writing at the end of this topic.
In this new booklet, you will meet a boy called Sammy and a Goblin named Treerumple and go with them on a magical journey to the special Tree Goblin world and then as far as your imaginations can take you.
This week I would like you to complete the following pages of the activity booklet:
Monday: Read or listen to the story. Pages 3, 4. 5 and 6 or online at https://soundcloud.com/talkforwriting/bookshop/s-WQRn0LBZ1ho
Tuesday: Page 7, 8 and 9. These pages will test your retrieval skills and help you to develop as a text detective.
Wednesday: Pages 10 and 11 and 12. A comic strip activity and a word sorting game which will help to check your understanding of words. Use a dictionary here if you are unsure of any meanings.
Thursday: Page 13, 14 and 15 Characters. Here you will invent new Goblin characters and create fact sheets about three of the Goblins you invent.
Friday: Page 16, Settings. Here you have to identify things that the Goblin can see then as part of your artwork this week you will draw a picture of the Goblin party annotating it with details of what can be seen.
