Word Building: (make them using letter cards and then write each one)

 

For this lesson you should have a selection of sounds out in front of your child, you say the word slowly and ask your child to select the correct letters to make the word. They should then ‘say the sounds and read the word’ to check it is correct.

Make the words: - twist, split, crank, print, grunt, strap.

Writing: - ask your child to write a sentence using each of the words within it. For added challenge, your child could try and write a sentence containing 2 of the words. Encourage your child to try and make their sentences interesting and varied. You are aiming for your child to make a phonetically plausible attempt for each word they write.
