Word Building: (make them using letter cards and then write each one)

For this lesson you should have a selection of sounds out in front of your child, you say the word slowly and ask your child to select the correct letters to make the word. They should then ‘say the sounds and read the word’ to check it is correct.

Make the words: - swim, twin, flop, clip, slam.

                       (Make sure you explain the meaning of each word)

Sound swap: - begin with the letter cards, you make the word flop.

Your child can then choose to swap one letter to make a new word. How long can they make the list? Can they work it so that they get back to flop?
