Number and Shape, Space and Measures are the areas of learning developed within Maths.
Children begin to use mathematical names for 2D and 3D shapes. They select a particular named shape and can use familiar objects and common shapes to create and recreate patterns and build models.
Children can count reliably with numbers 1-20, place them in order and say which is one more or one less than a given number. They can record using marks that they can interpret and explain.
