Children give meanings to the marks they make as they draw, write and paint. They begin to break the flow of speech into words. Some words are spelt correctly and others are phonetically plausible.
We follow the 'Sounds-Write' Phonics programme to help us with our reading + writing.
Children recognise familiar words and signs such as own name. They know that information can be relayed in the form of print. They can link sounds to letters and write their own name.
